Here are a few more useful apps to consider for your next vacation or business trip.<\/p>\n<h2>MyWeather<\/h2>\n<p>Before you reach your travel destination, you\u2019ll probably check the weather reports so you\u2019ll know what to pack and what to prepare for. After you\u2019ve arrived, it\u2019s just as important to have real-time weather information at your fingertips, in a language you understand.<\/p>\n<p>If you like to shop and book tours and events locally, you\u2019ll want to know the forecast before scheduling your activities. You don\u2019t want to buy tickets for an outdoor show on the same day rain is expected, or schedule a boat trip if a storm is approaching.<\/p>\n<p>There are several weather apps you can use, <em>MyWeather<\/em> is a popular one known for its accuracy. You&#8217;ll especially need this app when traveling in non-English speaking countries.<\/p>\n<p>The app can translate 64 languages, 24 with audio, and offers voice input for 17 languages. You can even draw characters for some languages on the screen and it will translate them for you. No, but it\u2019s still a pretty amazing app, particularly considering the number of languages it supports. What\u2019s even more amazing is that it\u2019s free.<\/p>\n<p>Google Translate is like having a digital phrasebook that you don\u2019t need to remember to pack. But if you want to learn how to understand and speak a language you may be better off with a language learning app that allows you to practice. These apps are better for learning and may have translations that are more accurate than Google\u2019s. Language learning apps are usually not free.<\/p>\n<p>The Google Translate app is free for Apple iOS and Android phones and tablets:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/google-translate\/id414706506?mt=8\" target=\"_blank\">Apple App Store<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.google.android.apps.translate\" target=\"_blank\">Google Play<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>XE Currency<\/h2>\n<p>If you\u2019re traveling to places with different currencies, you\u2019re going to do lots of calculating in your head if you don\u2019t have the XE Currency app.<\/p>\n<p><em>XE Currency<\/em> was designed for easy currency conversion calculation. It toggles between currencies for quick calculation and allows you to monitor any currency for quick glance rates.<\/p>\n<p>Best of all, the app works offline. While you\u2019re online it stores currency information on your phone or tablet, allowing you make calculations anywhere. Local information and facts on landmarks, attractions, buildings, parks, districts, and anything else nearby that is noteworthy.<\/p>\n<p>As the app developers put it, \u201cWikihood is mobile Wikipedia on steroids.\u201d This app can be very handy when traveling and perhaps can save you from having to buy a local guidebook. I\u2019ve found that it has interesting facts missed by other apps and traveler reviews. It\u2019s surprisingly helpful when traveling off-the beaten-path, away from the tourist spots.<\/p>\n<p>The Wikipedia mobile app has a similar GPS search feature, but I find Wikihood much more streamlined and easier to use. To get the most out of your next vacation you may want to do a little app discovery and exploration before your trip.<br \/>\nThere are thousands of travel related apps for Android and Apple devices. Many cater to certain outdoor hobbies and interests, such as biking, scuba diving, and other activities.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s a sample of app titles for outdoor activities. You may find apps that provide richer local information compared to the global apps, or others that cater to activities you enjoy.<\/p>\n<p>Whatever the reason you like to travel, and wherever you go, I\u2019m sure these apps will help relieve some of the stress that goes along with the pleasure of travel and make your trips more enjoyable. Even if you have a favorite place you like to visit each year and know every nook-and-cranny of the land, some of these apps may surprise you.
